Our Pastors
Hayden Norris - Senior Pastor
Joe Garcia - Youth Pastor

Joe was called to the Valley in June of 2014 as the full time pastor of youth. He says, “Looking back, there is no doubt that God was in that decision. It is a gift of joy to serve here.”

In March of 2015, Joe married the love of his life, Emily, who is his number one ministry partner and supporter. His heart for the youth ministry, C3Underground, and their families, is that they would encounter Jesus personally, connect deeply with God’s people, and live transformed lives of holiness and mission! Believe, Belong, Be different!

Joe was led to Jesus in 1995, at the age of 5. He received his B.A. from Biola University and his M.A. in Biblical Studies from Talbot School of Theology. Joe says, “God has kept me throughout it all” and is stunned by his consistent faithfulness and love!”

Joe is excited about the future of the youth ministry, and is passionate about all the progress this church is making, guided by God’s unstoppable Word.

Currently the verse close to his heart is Jude 1:24-25; it reminds him that God will complete his work in us and that He deserves the glory. “ Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.”

Our Board of Deacons
John Rodrigues

It has been 31 years since John and Regina Rodrigues walked down the aisle here at Cornerstone Community Church. They have two daughters, Nicole and Allyson. Nicole is married to Stephen Hardman and is a teacher. Allyson graduated from Azusa Pacific University and works for CBS Studios. Their dog Daisy rules the home!

John attended Holtville schools and graduated from Imperial Valley College. He has been employed by Imperial Irrigation District for 30 years.

John gave his heart to the Lord while attending an outreach here at Cornerstone 34 years ago. Since that day this has been His home. He serves on the Board here at Cornerstone and has been overseeing the construction projects. John’s favorite verse is Romans 12:1-2.

John believes Cornerstone can help make a difference in family’s lives by encouraging them to follow Christ.

Ron Peeks

Ron and his wife Kelley have been married for 36 years. They have four children, seven grandchildren and one great grand child. Ron is employed with Western Hydro as a Branch Manager/Outside Sales and has been with the company for 8 years.

Ron serves in the music ministry and has played guitar with the Praise Team for nearly 16 years. He is also involved in kid’s ministry such as Worship KidStyle. Ron came to know the Lord through music here at Cornerstone 17 years ago. He realized his talent was God given and could be used to reach people to help spread God’s word. It was a revelation that changed his life, as well.

Ron is excited about the direction that Cornerstone is taking. “So many younger families have began to attend church, and many have become involved in the mission of the church, which is to reach out to the lost. The Cornerstone family is growing!!” Ron is happy to have Pastors and other leaders in this church whose hearts are focused on leading the masses to our Savior, Jesus Christ!! One of his favorite verses is Psalms 98:4, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth - make a loud noise, and rejoice and sing praise!!

David accepted the Lord when he was 15 and rededicated his life in 1999. Since then, he has been serving on the Board, he leads an adult Sunday School class, and helps out where needed in the church. He also truly loves being a part of the Praise Team.

Since David joined Cornerstone he has seen many changes and exciting things happen here. He says, “It’s amazing how the Lord has worked and is still working in the lives of the people. Cornerstone is making a difference in the lives here and with our Missionaries abroad.”

His favorite verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

David Hilfiker

David is married to his high school sweetheart, Carolyn, and on November 27 they will be celebrating 45 years of marriage. They are blessed with three wonderful children, Helina Hoyt, Sam, and Heidi Gill, in which they now have 11 grandchildren!

David graduated from Holtville High and went to IVC, after which he went into farming with his dad and brother. In 2003 he joined his son, Sam, and started Crossroads Ranch where he is currently still farming.

Gilbert Harrison

Gilbert and his wife Patricia have been married since 1984 and he has attended Cornerstone since 1978. They have twin sons, Mark and Micah.

Gilbert grew up in the Imperial Valley, where he graduated from Holtville High School.  He later attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and received his Bachelors of Science degree.  After college, Gilbert spent eight years in the U.S. Air Force serving our country. Gilbert is employed by Rogers & Rogers Nissan.

Gilbert came to know the Lord in 1977 at a Word of Life Winter camp. He is currently the Chairman of the Board and is overseeing the Cornerstone Cares Ministry.
He sees his ministry coming from Titus 3:14 and is excited about what the Lord is doing, in the hearts of Christians, at Cornerstone. He is looking forward to seeing what God is going to accomplish through the people of Cornerstone. Romans 14:14 has had the largest impact on his life while growing in the Lord.
Mike Saad

Mike and Jill met at the Master’s college and have been married for 17 years. They have 3 children; Fisher (9), Hunter (7), and Sailor (6). Mike & Jill own Desert Air Conditioning and also manage apartment rentals.

Mike’s ministry includes leading midweek men’s studies, Fundamental of the Faith classes, as well as Biblical financial classes. He also disciples one on one, young men who are just starting out in life.

Mike made a profession of faith in 3rd grade at an Awana altar call, but it wasn’t until he was in college that his faith became real to him.

Mike is excited to be a part of Cornerstone! He says, “I see lives being transformed with the faithful preaching of the Word and the Holy Spirit moving in the lives of our people.”

His favorite verse is Philippians 4:6-9.
